Bianca has always had an interest in working in mental health and applied for the role at Heathville Residential Care 10 years ago. Bianca completed her Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care - Adult in 2016 and then progressed to achieve her Level 5 Diploma for Health and Social Care and Children’s and Young Peoples Settings in 2018 through an Advanced Learner Loan.
Throughout her career, Bianca has understood the importance of continuing to learn and she has completed various short courses including dementia care.
Bianca had to take a career break due to personal reasons, but now that she has her Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care and Children's and Young People's Settings, she would like to put her newfound knowledge to use and perhaps one day become a care manager, which her Level 5 Diploma will help her achieve.
Bianca would recommend a career in social care because you can make such a big difference to the people you're helping.
A career in care is definitely worth doing it's very rewarding and lovely to be able to help people. Anyone thinking about working in social care needs to have the right values and personality – it would be difficult to do a care job if you're not the right type of person.
