Before joining Midland Care Ashrat was a private carer for her father, after he sadly passed away Ashrat decided to become a senior carer and help others. Ashrat has now been at Midland Care for 6 years and they supported her to complete her Level 2 Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care - Adult with t2 group. After completing her Level 2 Ashrat is now studying for her Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship.

Ashrat suffers from anxiety but felt fully supported by t2 throughout her qualification. Since gaining her qualifications Ashrat now feels more confident and understanding in her job role. She felt the unit on dementia has helped her enormously understand dementia patients.

Ashrat feels that her qualifications have helped open her mind and her career pathway and would recommend anyone interested in care to ensure they study. The training gives everyone a better understanding and a better job role.

You are going into someone's home mostly people who are vulnerable and don't have anyone and you are making their lives much easier. It is very rewarding and when I get home, I really feel like I have made a difference.
