Deborah started working at Apollo Home Healthcare in 2019.

When Deborah started with the company two years ago, she disclosed her wishes to complete her Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship, then in 2020, Apollo Home Healthcare decided to place her on the course with t2 group.

Deborah explains ‘I have become more patient with colleagues and clients since starting the course. I also have a better understanding of how quickly infections can spread and what precautions to take to try and reduce the likelihood of infections spreading.

The training has given me a better understanding of what can happen within the workplace without the policies and procedures that are in place to protect us and others from harm'.

Deborah plans to continue her learning as she enjoys expanding her knowledge regarding healthcare. Deborah suffers from dyslexia and praises her t2 group tutor who has been fantastic and very patient with her. She mentions ‘I often get great feedback which makes me want to continue with the course’.

Deborah states ‘The units I have completed so far will help me be more competent at my job and gives me a bigger variety of jobs that I can do once the course is completed’.

What advice would Deborah give to anyone interested in a career in healthcare?
